Short codes
A short code is a 5 digit number that is used in conjunction with a keyword for collecting data, providing leads, generating revenue and running competitions. This is an example of a standard rate keyword and short code:
Text POWERTEXT to 80010
This is a crucial part of your contact information; wherever you print your web address, email and telephone number you should also add a text-in option. The use of short codes is widespread, we see them everywhere and your customers are used to using them.
Short codes are really a very simple mechanic; in the early days our nightclub clients used them to provide their 'queue jump' service. This generated revenue for the business, opt-in mobile numbers and a guest list for the night's events. Nowadays, we use them for lead generation, mailing lists, competitions, text-to-screen or, most effectively, for delivering a mechanic in an outbound marketing text message for redemption. Short codes are an effective measure of return on investment, making them particularly appealing to marketers presenting their case to a results-orientated Board/Chairman.
Within our console we have full management tools to carry out short code campaigns, almost all of our tools are automated, so once set-up you can simply sit back and watch the data flood in. We offer advice on the best use of short codes within your campaigns, as well as terms & conditions and projected data collection.
